How many of you think the fake feminism we see nowadays is equivalent to age-old toxic masculinity? The fight for equality with men is meant not just to break the social construct that allows men to enjoy privileges that women can’t have but also to change how people view a woman’s role in society. However, recently, I have seen that feminism has become more about demeaning men than treating them as equals.
There are many cases of women bullying, cheating, beating unsuspecting men, and trapping them in false criminal cases. I have seen many relationships break up in which men were faithful to their partners, but women weren’t. Women show concern when they are sexually objectified, which makes sense, but why not have the same sensitivity towards men, too, and treat them with respect? It is not okay to play the woman and victim card to escape the wrong you do.
One can fill pages by citing and giving examples from daily life where feminism went too far. However, naming and shaming people is never the solution to the problem. Everyone knows what they are and what they do. Just a little bit of introspection is required. Treating everyone with equal respect does not take much effort anyway.
